Abstract|
The paper discusses the semantic relation between using the proper meaning and the figurative meaning in Juz’ ‘Amma. Through the pragmatic perspective, the paper analyses some verses of this part explaining that sometimes, the two main kinds of figurative speech (Synecdoche and mental trope) convey proper meanings. The analytical examples show that this Qur’anic stylistic technique represents a promotion of the semantic function and the rhetoric values.
