Siberian pipeline project aims at transferring the Soviet gas from Yamal fields in Siberia to the Western Europe contries which was done through a series of negotiations in early of the 1980s between the Soviet Union and the Western Europe countries. The project faced a strong opposition by the American administration considering that this project hurts its economic interests in the region; thus, it started to impede it, but the European allies did not submit to the American will and adhered to their interests
